Comedy Sidekick App Review

Do you remember the funny kids in school? The kids that got all of the attention from the class and even the teacher! Your only hope was bringing an old joke book with knock-knock jokes or bad punch lines. Well now there’s an app that can replace that old, useless joke book. However, it doesn’t replace the dumb jokes. The Comedy Sidekick app is a comedic app that attempts to help the user tell jokes and entertain, unfortunately it fails.

When you first start Comedy Sidekick you’ll see a comedy stage with a couple different buttons on it. Three buttons, in the form of spotlights, display the text: Opening Acts, Introducing and Punch Lines. Tap the opening acts button to see  a list of humorous ice breakers. Tapping the Introducing button will take you to a list of ways to introduce yourself. And tapping the Punch Lines button will give you a long list of funny punchlines to give a try.

The other buttons take you to completely random jokes or phrases that the developers expect for you to find funny. Unfortunately, just like the rest of the content in this application none of it’s funny. The best way to describe the jokes in this app is, elementary school playground at best. I’m not entirely sure where the developers got the jokes for this app, but they should have looked elsewhere.

The one thing that could possibly make this app worth while is the ability to record and organize your own content. So if you happen to be an up and coming stand up comedian who wants to organize their material on their iPhone, than this app could work for you. However, for the vast majority of us looking for some funny jokes in an easy to use interface I recommend you keep looking and save your $.99!

Verdict:1/5 Stars
