Some good news may be coming for those looking to unlock an OS 3.1.3 running iPhone. It seems that the Dev-Team has confirmed that an exploit for the 05.12.01 baseband has been discovered.

What this means is that anyone that accidentally, or those that just got over excited when they saw 3.1.3 available should be able to re-unlock in the future. Unfortunately as of now a release date for this unlock has not been mentioned. But as always, the Dev-Team is warning all those who jailbreak or unlock to be patient and not fall victim to any of the scam sites that will promise an unlock in return for your hard earned cash.

“Don’t fall for these scam sites! None of them have a 05.12 unlock, none have the 05.11 unlock working on 3.1.3, none have a 3.1.3 jailbreak for newer devices like the ipt3G. They’re trying to capitalize on your upgrade mistake, and they only need a very small percentage of people to fall for them to make their money and run.”
