Without getting caught up in the fact that these numbers are not official, they are still impressive. Well, they are impressive assuming they are accurate, but then again the source of where the are coming from has a good track record. And with that disclaimer out of the way, lets get into it…
It has been estimated that Apple sold over 150,000 iPads since it was launched on March 12. According to the numbers, Apple also sold majority of those in the first day alone. About 120,000 were estimated to have been sold that first day with the sales slowing down considerably after and ending at around 152,000 at midnight Sunday. And this number does not include any iPads that were reserved for pickup.
Again, while believable these numbers are not official and not coming by way of Apple.
Additionally, Daniel Tello spoke with Apple 2.0 and told them that;
“With three weeks and two weekends left before they ship, I wouldn’t expect much more than half a million in pre-orders and reservations,”
Finally, if we can believe these numbers are the real deal, that would mean that iPad is on track to beat the 74 days it took the original iPhone to sell 1 million units.

So what. It's an overpriced non-multi-tasking thin touchscreen. Unless you are fascinated by the back of your hand what's the point? I use accessories like a keyboard and mouse so I can see my whole screen.
