After plenty of speculation, and what seems like an eternity of last minute waiting — Twitter for the iPhone has arrived complete with its new name and new app icon.

Anyway, not much to this except the app is available for the iPhone and iPod touch and can be downloaded for free. And just like that Tweetie and Tweetie 2 have been cast aside, well in name anyway. Otherwise, the Twitter app seems to be pretty decent, except for the fact that it did not launch with an iPad version.
