Wired Magazine app now available for the iPad
May 26, 2010 | Robert Nelson
Wired Magazine is now available for the iPad. The app was originally announced back and March and seems to have arrived in time for the June issue which is featuring such goodies as a behind the scenes look at Toy Story 3, a recording studio session with Trent Reznor and more.
But more importantly the app will offer a nice mix of content including text, images, music and even video. The June issue was noted as offering a “video journey aboard a real Con Air flight.”
Of course, the catch here comes in regards to the price — $4.99. Personally, I think it sounds fair, give all of the media involved in the app, but can understand some complaining given you can subscribe to a year in print for much cheaper than what the digital version will end up costing at $4.99 an issue.
Still, my download is still going (the app weighs in at 527MB) so my thoughts may change after I spend some time reading. That said, I look forward to checking it out first hand. Wired was once of my favorite print magazine, so I am assuming the mix of media available in the digital version will only make it better — at least for me.
Anyway, check out the screen captures below and hit the link below to check out the App Store listing for yourself…
