If you have been a fan of jailbreaking, or even paying attention to jailbreak related news — you likely know who Geohot is. After all, he has been around doing great things for those who like to play with their iPhones for quite a while now. That said, the outlook of him releasing something for the iPhone 4 looks pretty bad. Well, pretty bad assuming we can take what he is saying on his most recent blog entry as truth. In short, he seems bored, well bored and frustrated with the way jailbreaking and unlocking has turned out. Hint, it became super easy which in turn invited many people in that should have remained on the outside.
With that, I guess we can still hold out hope. Personally its something that I would like to see as I have always liked his jailbreak tools in the past as they were easy. But then again, other tools like Pwnage Tool are not hard to use if you take a few extra minutes and pay attention to what you are doing.
Bottom line, Geohot says that he received an iPhone 4 and is going to “give it a shot.” But at the same time, speaking in terms of a release, says that “it probably won’t happen” from him.
Furthermore, he goes on to clarify (or confuse the situation) and mentions that when he said “pwned for life” in the past he was referring to the original iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch. Either way, if you are hoping for a jailbreak tool from Geohot this time around, make sure you wish quietly and remember not to bug or ask him.

fuck that douche. if he doesnt like the fucking celebrity he shouldnt have went around bragging about it. what the hell does he expect? if u do/create/make something and people like it or use it then they are gonna want more DUH. steve jobs doesnt get all pissy like this fucker. why talk about "making a jb" if ur not gonna release it. he's the fucking T.O. of jb community. whining and wants all the attention.

David, you sound like one sour M….. Fucker. This guy has been making fixes for the IPhone FOR FREE… for a while now, and has done a very good job in my opinion. You're telling me he cannot express what he thinks he may or may not be able to do with the new system? You should be thankful that there are people like him around, offering his time and efforts for the better enjoyment of others, instead of criticizing like a person who hates his own existence and the rest of the world.

He's an attention whore. I appreciate his efforts but what does he expect? He could simply do his work without seeking celebrity status, but he randomly posts/tweets updates and pictures teasing everybody, with a supposed jailbreak, and then bitches about it when people ask for it. Just STFU already! If you want to disppear go, stop making a spectacle and being such a drama queen. Grow up kid.

He received all the hate because he posted a picture of a successful jailbreak on the iPhone 4 and then announced that he wouldn’t be releasing it. What the hell did he expect after that? And this is not the first time; he posts pics of his jailbreaks on new Apple devices like the iPad and immediately after he says that he has no plans of releasing it. Why even bother posting crap then? Whatever criticism he received, he brought it upon himself. I guarantee you that if he only made ‘technical’ blog posts about ‘technical’ stuff instead of baiting people hunting for jailbreaks and then crushing their hopes thirty seconds later, he wouldn’t have lost so much respect among the jailbreaking community.
