As we are now well into the second half of July, the white iPhone 4 is notable due to its absence, despite this being the period that Apple indicated it would be on sale, following delays at launch.  Anyone waiting patiently for the most virginal of mobile phones is in for further disappointment today though, as Apple have pushed it back even further.

A statement sent to the press says that the white iPhone ‘continues to be more challenging to manufacture than originally expected’ and that it would now come ‘later in the year’.  No specific date was given, nor was any indication about exactly what was proving difficult to manufacture, although whatever it is doesn’t affect the black iPhone 4.

So, until which time the white iPhone 4 arrives, you’ll have to content yourself with looking at these very attractive pictures of a Japanese white iPhone 4.
