Browsing the App Store this weekend? Here are ten new or updated apps for the iPhone and iPad worth taking a closer look at if you are:
The app is free to download, but the Grooveshark service costs $3 per month, and for that you get access to millions of streaming songs. You can also create playlists. Free.
This conversion of the excellent iPad pinball game isn’t suitable for the iPhone 3G. It has specially optimized graphics for the iPhone 4’s Retina Display, multiplayer over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and the option to play in landscape of portrait mode. $1.99/£1.19.
Square Enix have converted their iPhone game to the iPad, bringing with it great graphics that make full use of the iPad’s display. Gameplay has remained the same, but the price has taken a bit of a hike! $15.99/9.49.
An iPad puzzle game based around creating words from a jumble of letters on the screen. It sounds unoriginal, but the format is anything but! The app is initially free, however if you want more than two levels you’re going to have to pay $1.99. Free.
Calling this a social networking app for sharks may sound odd, but instead of being used by our toothy friends, its used by us to note where and when they’re spotted. There are plenty of shark-related facts too. $0.99/£0.59.
An app that allows you to store the tea or coffee preference of everyone you ever meet. The design looks great and we have a feeling there can’t be many apps that do this! $0.99/£0.59.
A maze game for the iPad and the iPhone, this is set in space and therefore the course has very few boundaries, bringing a new set of challenges with it. The app is free to download, but further levels will have to be purchased. Free.
Make household chores fun for your kids with this application that not only assigns rewards and points for completion of tasks, but lets them use the iPad when they’ve finished! $2.99/£1.79.
Simple, gory and filled with lots of weapons and various characters to maim, this is possibly not the app to show off your iPhone’s ability to the weak-stomached! Looks lots of fun for the rest of us though! $0.99/£0.59.
An iPhone 4-only application, this uses the gyroscope to let you play the air drums in a way you couldn’t have imagined before. Innovative and very cool! $2.99/£1.79.
