One Day Project iPhone Game Nears Release

Here’s an interesting project that deserves to get some attention.  The One Day Project is a collection of three iPhone games, each created in 24-hours and developed by three separate people, that are to be bundled together as one app.  The game is set for release on the 1st September and will be free to download.

But this isn’t the special part.  Each time one of the three games is played it’ll be registered on a play counter and whichever proves to be the most popular over a period of time, will become part of the One Week Project.  We’re guessing that this game will then be worked on by the three developers and expanded into a full title.

The three games are called Bubble Jamaica, Bear USA and Cosmos Force, but none have been created using a pre-existing engine, but with Xcode and Photoshop instead.

We recently reviewed Ghost in the Machine, another 24-hour game, which suffered from feeling like a game designed in a day, so it will be interesting to try these out.  However, what we love about this idea is not only that we get to choose which game is developed even further, but the very fact it’ll happen at all!  It would have easy to pop this collection into the App Store for $0.99 and forget about it, and the developers should be congratulated for not going down this route.

Have a look at the promo video and some preview screenshots below, then grab the game on the 1st September.
