Pulse News Reader and Pulse News Mini Currently 50% Off

The Pulse News Reader is one of the better RSS reader apps for the iPad, plus there is the equally great News Mini available for the iPhone.

The Pulse application had a difficult start to life inside the App Store, after it was yanked out due to it including New York Times content as standard, something the newspaper objected too.

After the app was updated to not include the newspapers RSS feed, Pulse returned to the App Store and subsequently became a part of Steve Jobs’ keynote speech at this year’s developer conference.  Since then the app has gone on to include the ability to share your favorite news stories via a Posterous blog, simply by clicking a heart icon next to the story in the app.

Its only limitation is that the app can only store 20 feeds at once, so if you’re an avid online news reader, you may struggle to pick which to add.  Otherwise, the app also has an offline mode and an extensive smart search mode.

If you haven’t already given either of these two a try, now is the time, as Pulse News is available for 50% off the regular price, making the iPhone version $0.99/£0.59 and the iPad version $1.99/£1.19.  Interestingly, this discount applies to the Android Market too.
