We reviewed the free ‘preview’ version of Virtual City last week and really enjoyed its arcade-style take on the Sim City formula.  At the time, there was no indication of exactly when the full version of the game would be available in the App Store, however we now know that it’ll be released on the 4th September.

The app will provide support for the iPhone 4’s Retina Display and include 50 levels, 18 missions and 16 achievements to unlock.  Also, the first update to the game will bring with it a free play mode with five ’sandbox’ maps.

In the future, an iPad version of Virtual City will also be released, however this may not be at the same time as the iPhone edition.

On release, the game will cost $2.99 but only for a limited time, so make sure you pick it up early.  Given how much fun the preview app was, and that it was downloaded more than 100,000 times in just five days, the premium Virtual City should prove popular.  We know we’re looking forward to it!
