The iPhone/PSP version of the popular console franchise has made the step up to become an HD app for the iPad.  The game will not change drastically in terms of gameplay according to Rockstar, who say it will still have multi-touch controls, variable difficulty levels and the iTunes driven Independant Radio station too.

The change will be in the graphics department, which have been given a proper makeover to suit the iPad’s larger screen.  There will also be more than 50 missions available.  The game is going to be released on the 9th September and will cost $9.99/£5.99, the same price as the standard iPhone edition.

Good though Chinatown Wars is on the iPhone, this is one game sure to benefit from the iPad’s larger screen and it’s going to be very interesting to see how good the updated graphics look.  We’ll be picking this up, how about you?
