The PadStand is a small chunk of soft-touch plastic designed to hold your iPad in a vertical or horizontal position, making it a good companion if you’re wanting to watch movies on your iPad, use it as a photo frame or even as a second monitor next to your laptop.

It’s small size makes it easily transportable and it certainly doesn’t take up much room on a desk, in fact its footprint is similar to an iPhone.

Your iPad just slots into the groove, which also has a handy cutout for the Home button.  It’s sturdy enough so you can still use the touchscreen, and although I do feel like steadying it with my other hand, there really isn’t much need.  As long as you’re not heavy-handed or resting it on anything other than a table, an iPad in a PadStand isn’t going anywhere.

This little stand is light at 180 grams and is made of a soft material, which combined with all the rounded edges, means it won’t scratch your iPad no matter how often you put it in and take it out.

It’s available in five colours, black, blue, green, pink and this one, Ice White.  The PadStand’s has a simple design and it performs its job extremely well.  The price is good too, £9.99 or about $15, plus postage.  We think the PadStand is a competitively priced alternative to the various kick stand cases out there, especially if your iPad rarely leaves the house.
