GreenPois0n Jailbreak Release Delayed
October 11, 2010 | Andy Boxall

While jailbreakers have now got limera1n to play with, the expected release of the Chronic Dev Team’s GreenPois0n jailbreak has been delayed. The tool was due to be out yesterday – at the portentous time of 10:10:10AM on the 10/10/10 – but this has now been changed to ‘ASAP’.
According to the Chronic Dev Team’s Twitter account, they are still going to release GreenPois0n, but are adjusting it to use the exploit implemented by Geohot, saving their own SHAtter exploit for another time. They also say their jailbreak will be usable on Windows, Mac and Linux, but won’t be available for the iPhone 3GS.
The fact that Geohot swooped in and released limera1n before the announced GreenPois0n made it to market has upset various members of the Chronic Dev Team, as they don’t want to give Apple the chance to fix two breaks in one go, which could be the consequence of releasing their own jailbreak as planned. We’re pretty sure that theft of their thunder didn’t impress them much either.
What are your plans? Are you going to use limera1n, or will you be boycotting it due to the controversial release time? Perhaps you don’t have a Windows machine to hand are have to wait anyway? Let us know what you think of this unusual turn of events.

I read Geohot intended to release Limera1n in celebration to the one year anniversary of the release of Blackra1n. But what this Limera1n release has done has frustrated and angered a lot of people. Could George Hotz have been so clueless as not know what this release would do to the carefully planned, hard work efforts that went into the upcoming release of Greenpois0n? Why would he want to screw the ChronicDev Team AND everyone else working so long and hard on this release? What a kick in the slats. Maybe you came out of retirement George but your brain got left behind.
