Pulse News Reader is one of the iPad apps I use on a daily basis and it was worth every penny of its original price.  Disillusioned with Flipboard and not a Google Reader user, I wanted something that brought together feeds from sites I read regularly in an attractive and simple way.  Pulse turned out to do the job very well.

Since then the app has been upgraded to version 2.0, where more feeds can be added, 60 in total, and split into five different sections.  Performance is even better and there is also a set of improved recommendations for sites that suit Pulse’s display format.
