Skyfire Browser Sales Halted

If you’re eagerly seaching the App Store for the Flash-friendly Skyfire browser this morning, don’t bother, as it has been removed from sale for the time being.  As you may be aware, Skyfire converts Flash video for your iPhone via its own servers and when an app sells as fast as Skyfire did, problems can arise.

Skyfire have told Engadget they are experiencing such a high level of demand, that they won’t be accepting new users until they’ve added new servers – something they’re doing as we speak.  Updates will be published on their Twitter and Facebook pages if you’re desperate to be one of the first to download once the app goes back online.

It’s not the first time a new app has found itself in difficulties due to demand.  Most recently, iPad owners will recall that Flipboard suffered extensive delays almost immediately after going on sale too.
