Battle Squadron ONE iPad Gameplay Video
January 4, 2011 | Andy Boxall

Back at the end of November 2010, we showed you a video of Amiga shooter Battle Squadron running on the iPhone. It has been converted to iOS by the original developers of the game, and will be released under the title of Battle Squadron ONE. When the game was first announced it as made clear an iPad version would be joining the iPhone game, and here is our first look.
As is obvious in the video, the tilt control system seen on the iPhone has been repeated for the iPad game, which should make it interesting for extended sessions given the weight of the tablet. That said, it appears to have been very well implemented judging by the way the ship zips around the screen.
The increased screen real estate will make for a more traditional Battle Squadron experience too, and it’s pretty clear the game has lost none of its toughness during its conversion!
Whether the game will be a universal app for the iPhone and iPad, or two separate games has also yet to be confirmed.
The release of Battle Squadron ONE is getting closer, as the game is now completed, with only some feature tweaks and testing to go. Definitely one to look forward too.
