iOS 4.3 Out Today? *Updated*

Despite having announced iOS 4.3 for the 11th March during the iPad 2 event, a rumor has sprung up that the new version of the operating system will be out at 10am PT today.

Could this be right? According to Boy Genius it is.  We’ll be there to check, but it’s very unusual to provide a date and then hit the ‘Go’ button a few days early.  The official press release still states the 11th March for iOS 4.3, but Apple’s information page still say it’s ‘coming soon’.

One of the major new features of iOS 4.3 is Personal Hotspot, where other devices can share your iPhone’s 3G data connection.  The question is, how many devices?  Boy Genius elaborates on this too, saying that three devices will be the default selection, but network providers could increase this to five if they choose to do so.

Let’s see what happens.

*Update* Well, as you’ll have noticed, nothing happened.  However, rumors no suggest iOS 4.3 will appear later today, the 9th March, instead; saying that Boy Genius’s information was correct about the early release, just slightly off with the day.  Once more, we’ll see!
