If you’ve got an iPad 2 and Apple’s Smart Cover, but are often annoyed by the magnets coming loose at inopportune moments, or are concerned about damage to the read of your tablet; then Incipio has come up with an ingenious solution to your problems.

The Smart Feather is a hardshell case for the iPad 2 specifically designed to be used with the Smart Cover.  The polycarbonate body clips to the rear of the tablet, covering over the Smart Cover’s spine to keep it in place.

At just 1mm thick and weighing 2oz, the Smart Feather lives up to its name and won’t add any bulk to the thin iPad 2.  Incipio will produce the case in the same 11 colors as the Smart Cover, so it’ll match it exactly.  The case isn’t quite ready, but you can sign-up to be notified when it goes on sale, something which is expected to happen later this month.

Incipio have placed a $34.99 price tag on the Smart Feather and make a point of saying it’s only to be used with a Smart Cover, so don’t get all excited if you haven’t invested in one of Apple’s own covers yet.
