Surreal Adventure Dream:scape Ready for Release
May 31, 2011 | Andy Boxall

Speedbump Studios has made the release date for their new adventure game, Dream:scape, official, and it’s out on the 9th June. The game is based on the Unreal Engine, best known for making Infinity Blade such a visual feast.
Before we get into the specifics of the game, it’s worth pointing out that Dream:scape isn’t the work of a big studio or a team of developers, but just one guy. Fair enough, someone else composed the music and two others performed the voice acting, but when you see the trailer and click those screenshot thumbnails under it, well, you’ll agree it’s quite an achievement.
Dream:scape is described as an ‘interactive narrative experience’, where you play Wilson, a comatose person exploring his memories who uncovers a decades-old mystery of tragedy, betrayal and revenge.
The 3D game world covers nearly 30-acres, and both buildings and open spaces can be freely explored, plus there are various creatures to interact with and guardians to defeat.
At this stage, the game reminds us of Inception-style dream exploration and Silent Hill-like adventure gameplay, with a hint of Epic Citadel’s world and Sword and Sworcery’s mystical elements. It looks great and we’ll definitely be checking it out on the 9th.
