New iPhone Ads Concentrate on iOS Features, Not iPhone 4

Have you heard? There’s a new iPhone coming sometime soon! But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy an iPhone 4, as according to Apple they’re still really great provided you’ve got friends with iPhones or iPads, or an Apple TV. At least, that’s the message sent by this pair of new TV spots for the iPhone.
They’re new entries in the ‘If you don’t have an iPhone...’ series, but in the case of the AirPlay ad, should probably say ‘If you don’t have an iPhone and an Apple TV…’ for complete accuracy.
Neither are Apple’s finest pieces of advertising, but they’re interesting in the way they push two features which are certain to be included on the next generation iPhone – neatly keeping clever features in people’s minds, but without tying them too explicitly to the iPhone 4.
The AirPlay ad obviously demonstrates sharing music and pictures over Wi-Fi – spot the little Apple TV box making a cameo appearance – and the FaceTime ad demos video calling between various Apple devices. Now if only my friends used an iPhone 4 and not Android or BlackBerry smartphones…
