Top Ten iPhone and iPad Apps Released This Week

Looking for a new app this weekend?  Here are ten great new apps for the iPhone and iPad that you may want to check out!

eBook Search.

An aggregation app for the millions of free eBooks available through the well-known eBook apps, such as Kindle, Nook and iBooks.  Books are selected and then downloaded into their respective apps ready for reading.  Free.

Bloomberg Radio+.

24-hour access to Bloomberg’s radio station, with interviews and show available on demand.  Content can be downloaded for offline listening too.  Free.

The Sims: Medieval.

It’s another Sims game, this time set in a medieval world complete with castles, jesters and old-school adventure.  The game has Retina Display graphics, mini-games and the usual task-based progression.  $4.99/£2.99

Kula Blox.

Control your falling animal, eat other animals, get bigger and achieve a high score; all the while avoiding being eaten yourself!  Includes Game Center support and plenty of in-app purchases.  $0.99/£0.69.

Tiny Defense.

A tower-defense, strategy game along the same lines as Plants vs. Zombies, with 150 levels, lots of characters and a variety of mini-games.  $2.99/£1.99.

Another World – 20th Anniversary.

The hit action adventure game from the early 90s comes to both the iPhone and the iPad.  It’s a universal app, so you only need to pay once, and it has the option to switch between classic graphics and an updated look.  Game Center support has been included and the game boasts a refined control system.  $4.99/£2.99.

TaskFlow.

A very attractive daily task planner, complete with planners, checklists and reminders.  The app is advertised as 50% off normal price this weekend only.  $1.99/£1.49.

Stardash.

A retro platform arcade game, with graphics straight out of a Gameboy!  It’s universal for the iPhone and iPad, has 40 levels in total, and Game Center support built-in.  $1.99/£1.49.

Super Stack Attack.

A new casual game based around stacking things until they fall over.  Already available on the iPhone, this is the HD iPad version with several challenge modes and Game Center support.  $1.99/£1.49.

Kazaa.

Listen to streaming music wherever you are using Kazaa’s new Spotify-like on-demand service.  The app is free to download with a 7-day free trial, but you’ll need to pay a $9.99 monthly subscription to keep listening.  Free, US-only.
