While the Smartphone Market Lags, iPhone’s Share Triples

Despite a downturn industry-wide of smartphone sales, the iPhone’s Q3 market share has tripled from the year-ago quarter, up to 12.9% worldwide, vs 3.4% for Q3 2007.  That puts the iPhone in 3rd place worldwide behind Nokia (42.4%) and RIM (15.9%).  Nokia’s lead is still looking insurmountable, but RIM is only a sliver ahead of the iPhone [...]
